The Agenda: What’s happening this week in local government?

SOUTHEASTERN NC – Every Monday, Port City Daily will share upcoming government meetings in the Tri-County area. If there is an element of public interest, we will also include it under the meeting indicated.

tuesday july 5

Surf City City Council will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Surf City Civic Complex, 214 W. Florence Way. The meeting can be streamed live on YouTube. The agenda includes a beach vitex prescription.

Brunswick County Commissioners will meet at 3 p.m. in the commissioners’ rooms at the Sandifer Administration Building at 30 Government Center Drive in Bolivia, North Carolina.

Brunswick County School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the Applied Science and Technology Center Conference Room at 1109 Old Ocean Hwy, Bolivia, NC. The meeting can be streamed live here. The agenda includes:

  • Discussion on SB 654
  • Nomination of a candidate to the board of directors of BCC
  • Infant nutrition contract with Sysco
  • Replacement purchases of technological equipment

Wednesday July 6

The Town of Burlaw Beautification Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Historic Train Depot, 115 S. Dickerson St.

The Pender County Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. at 805 S. Walker St. The meeting can be streamed live here. The agenda includes two public hearings on amendments to the zoning text.

The Town of North Topsail Beach will meet at 11 am at the Town Hall, 2008 Loggerhead Court. The meeting can be streamed live here. An agenda has not been released at press time.

The Wilmington Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 102 North 3rd St. The meeting can be streamed live on GTV8 and YouTube. The agenda includes an amendment to the city code regulations on short-term rental regulations. Read PCD coverage here.

New Hanover Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will meet at 8 a.m. in the conference room of the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Dr., Wilmington.

Thursday July 7

Burlaw City Tourism Development Authority will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Historic Train Depot, 115 S. Dickerson St.

Wilmington Housing Authority will hold several committee meetings at Rankin Terrace, 415 N. 12th St. The Community Outreach and Resident Services Committee will meet at 3 p.m.; the real estate development committee will meet at 4 p.m. and the political, administrative and financial committee will meet afterwards.
