South Kesteven District Council has launched a new app to support local businesses.

Dubbed HelloSK, it allows businesses to promote their discounts, products, and services directly to local residents. It also includes listings of events held throughout the district.

The council developed the app with tech company bubltown, backed by funds from its £250,000 allocation from the government’s Welcome Back Fund to support local businesses.

It uses built-in location services to show residents the stores, restaurants, gyms, and other services available in their area.

Key priority

Council leader Cllr Kelham Cooke said: “Supporting our business community is one of the key priorities identified in our business plan. The HelloSK app is an exciting new way to energize all local businesses, revitalize neighborhood shopping streets and encourage residents to shop locally.”

He added: “This will allow all South Kesteven businesses, regardless of the sector they operate in, to create a profile for free and promote their business directly to thousands of South Kesteven residents.

“There are some fantastic businesses in our neighborhood and this app is another incentive for people to shop locally and take advantage of what they have to offer.”

HelloSK is available on Apple Appstore and Google Play Store.
