Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey

The Victoria Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey is underway.

From now until early March, Surf Coast Shire resident and non-resident taxpayers can receive a call to their landline or mobile phone from an independent market research agency asking questions about the council’s performance .

Each year, the state government runs the survey to measure the community’s perception of their council’s performance over the past year.

The survey – which includes 600 telephone interviews – is conducted by National Field Services, an independent market research agency based in Australia.

Advisor to the Acting Mayor of Surf Coast Shire, Liz Pattison, encouraged people to take the phone survey if they get a call.

“I know people these days can get a lot of telemarketing and scam calls, so we wanted to let residents know that this is a legitimate phone survey by the state government, which helps councils know how they work. It only takes 10 minutes and we’d love to hear your feedback as it lets us know what we’re doing well and how we can improve.

“Rest assured that your contact details and individual responses are confidential. Only aggregate results are shared with the board,” she said.

If you have any questions about the survey, you can submit a request online or call 5261 0600.
