Appointment as Minister of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government

I am deeply honored and honored to have been sworn in as Minister of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.

As a regional person myself, I understand how much this portfolio can mean to the lives of Australians across our great country.

Good investment in infrastructure creates jobs, creates opportunities and unlocks economic growth and productivity.

Resilient and reliable transportation is the backbone of the nation.

And local government is the level of government closest to the community, providing the services Australians rely on.

From city to country, I am determined to see this key economic portfolio play its part in helping to build a better future for all Australians.

I look forward to working together with my colleagues in states, territories and across local government to implement the projects and reforms that will make a real difference to the lives of all Australians.

Now the hard work begins.
