Dominica has a number of postal and courier mail services that allow travelers to keep in touch during their vacation. The postal service in Dominica has its main branch at the Bayfront in Roseau near the ferry across from the ferry terminal. In addition, there are smaller post branches in a number of towns on the island. Some hotels may also offer a postal drop to their guests. Post office hours for the main branch are 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Smaller branches are open Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Postcards cost approximately $0.55(EC), while letters to the United States and United Kingdom cost about $1(EC) to send. Letters and postcards to Europe can take an average of two to three weeks for delivery, while mail to destinations in North America will arrive on average in one to two weeks. FedEx has several licensed service contractors located on the island. DHL has a drop-off center in Roseau that is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. UPS and Liat Quik Pak operate out of Roseau.
