While Dominica is among the most culturally and ecologically rich islands in the Caribbean, some vacationers may wish to explore a neighboring island during their stay. Ferry service provides transportation for travelers looking to take day trips to explore other islands.

The ferry terminal in Dominica is located at the entry port of Roseau, where a branch of customs and immigration also operates. Services for travelers, including communications, food, ATMs, information, and transportation, are all available at this port. The primary destinations for travelers taking ferries away from Dominica are Guadeloupe in the north, and Martinique in the south. Travelers may be able to continue their ferry ride south to St. Lucia.

Two services provide ferry transportation to and from Dominica; Express des Iles, and Caribbean Ferries.

Caribbean Ferries provides service to and from Guadeloupe, while Express des Iles provides service to Guadeloupe and Martinique from Dominica. Adult fares aboard Express des Iles cost, 60 for a single trip, and, 95 for a return trip.
